With love,

 1 Corinthians 13ย – “…Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,ย Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;ย Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;ย Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.ย Charity never faileth:”

 1 John 4:7,8-ย “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.ย He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

 “Only by love is love awakened. To know God is to love Him…” – {The Desire of Ages, pg.22}

 “Jesus says, “Love one another as I have loved you.” Love is not simply an impulse, a transitory emotion, dependent upon circumstances; it is a living principle, a permanent power. The soul is fed by the streams of pure love that flow from the heart of Christ, as a well-spring that never fails. O, how is the heart quickened, how are its motives ennobled, its affections deepened, by this communion! Under the education and discipline of the Holy Spirit, the children of God love one another, truly, sincerely, unaffectedly,–“without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” And this because the heart is in love with Jesus. Our affection for one another springs from our common relation to God. We are one family, we love one another as He loved us. When compared with this true, sanctified, disciplined affection, the shallow courtesy of the world, the meaningless expression of effusive friendship, are as chaff to the wheat….To love as Christ loved means to manifest unselfishness at all times and in all places, by kind words and pleasant looks. . . . Genuine love is a precious attribute of heavenly origin, which increases its fragrance in proportion as it is dispensed to others. . . . – {Sons and Daughters of God, pg. 101}ย

 Psalm 71:1-3-ย ย “In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.ย Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.ย Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.”

 James 1:2-4-ย “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;ย Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.ย But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”

 “…in every difficulty we are to see a call to prayer.” – {The Desire of Ages, pg. 667}

 “When temptations assail you, when care and perplexity surround you, when, depressed and discouraged, you are ready to yield to despair, look to Jesus, and the darkness that encompasses you will be dispelled by the bright shining of His presence. When sin struggles for the mastery in your soul, and burdens the conscience, look to the Saviour. His grace is sufficient to subdue sin. Let your grateful heart, trembling with uncertainty, turn to Him. Lay hold on the hope set before you. Christ waits to adopt you into His family. His strength will help your weakness; He will lead you step by step. Place your hand in His, and let Him guide you.Never feel that Christ is far away. He is always near. His loving presence surrounds you. Seek Him as One who desires to be found of you. He desires you not only to touch His garments, but to walk with Him in constant communion.” – {The Ministry of Healing, pg.85}ย

 Psalm 25:12,13-ย “What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.ย His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.”

ย Proverbs 3:5,6- “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.ย In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

 “Those who study the Bible, counsel with God, and rely upon Christ will be enabled to act wisely at all times and under all circumstances. Good principles will be illustrated in actual life.” – {Lift Him Up, pg. 336}

 “Those who decide to do nothing in any line that will displease God, will know, after presenting their case before Him, just what course to pursue. And they will receive not only wisdom, but strength. Power for obedience, for service, will be imparted to them, as Christ has promised.” – {The Desire of Ages, pg.668}ย

Proverbs 13:4-ย “The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.”

”The fear of the Lord is the foundation of all real prosperity.” – {My Life Today, pg.149}

 “…a faithful performance of duty goes hand in hand with a right estimate of the character of God.” – {Messages to Young People, pg.106}

 Hebrews 10:23– “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”

 John 20:29 – “…blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”

 Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…”

ย “The Lord is disappointed when His people place a low estimate upon themselves. He desires His chosen heritage to value themselves according to the price He has placed upon them. God wanted them, else He would not have sent His Son on such an expensive errand to redeem them. He has a use for them, and He is well pleased when they make the very highest demands upon Him, that they may glorify His name. They may expect large things if they have faith in His promises.”ย – {The Desire of Ages, pg. 668}

 Matthew 23:11,12 – “But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.ย And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”

 1 Peter 3:3,4ย – “Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;ย But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”

 1 Peter 5:5,6 – “…ย all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.ย Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:”

 Matthew 25:40 – “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

 Acts 20:35 – “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

 “Looking unto Jesus, we see that it is the glory of God to give.” – {The Desire of Ages, pg.21}

 ” “Whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for My sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.” Selfishness is death. No organ of the body could live should it confine its service to itself. The heart, failing to send its lifeblood to the hand and the head, would quickly lose its power. As our lifeblood, so is the love of Christ diffused through every part of His mystical body. We are members one of another, and the soul that refuses to impart will perish. And “what is a man profited,” said Jesus, “if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”” – {The Desire of Ages, pg. 417}

 “The King of glory stooped low to take humanity. Rude and forbidding were His earthly surroundings. His glory was veiled, that the majesty of His outward form might not become an object of attraction. He shunned all outward display. Riches, worldly honor, and human greatness can never save a soul from death; Jesus purposed that no attraction of an earthly nature should call men to His side. Only the beauty of heavenly truth must draw those who would follow Him. The character of the Messiah had long been foretold in prophecy, and He desired men to accept Him upon the testimony of the word of God.” ย – {The Desire of Ages, pg. 43.1} ย

 ” But remember that happiness will not be found in shutting yourselves up to yourselves, satisfied to pour out all your affection upon each other. Seize upon every opportunity for contributing to the happiness of those around you. Remember that true joy can be found only in unselfish service. Forbearance and unselfishness mark the words and acts of all who live the new life in Christ. As you seek to live His life, striving to conquer self and selfishness and to minister to the needs of others, you will gain victory after victory. Thus your influence will bless the world.” – {The Ministry of Healing, pg. 362} ย
