About “Character Challenges”
What is biblical beauty?
“Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” -1 Peter 3:3,4
“It is right to love beauty and to desire it; but God desires us to love and to seek first the highest beauty–that which is imperishable. The choicest productions of human skill possess no beauty that can bear comparison with that beauty of character which in His sight is of “great price.” -Education, pg. 249
While seeking to honor God in our outward appearance is so honorable and required of us by The Lord, the highest beauty in the sight of God is that of a Christlike character — one that reflects His beautiful, selfless love. Join us as we seek to challenge ourselves to develop sweet, loving, humble and pure characters that reflect Jesus and His love. By His grace we can be changed into new creatures (2 Corinthians 5:17)! We can have the victory over our selfishness, pride, bad tempers, secret sins, cold hearts, anger, unforgiving spirits and un-Christlike habits. Our hearts of stone can be turned into hearts of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26)!
Let’s allow God to break our hearts and characters with the things that break His, and by God’s grace, may we fill our hearts and build our characters with the things that please Him. Let’s grow in Jesus! 🙂
